Tinctures
Making your own tinctures can be incredibly effective and fun way to medicate. Tinctures are typically made by adding kief, hash, or extremely dry, ground buds to alcohol. It can be placed in small, discreet spray bottles for patients to use “on the go.” While it may be made with any of the above mentioned medications, kief usually provides optimum results.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Keep both your alcohol and kief as cold as possible (preferably in your freezer or in a sealed bag in a dry ice bath). Place both the cold kief and Everclear in a glass jar and shake it up vigorously for 5 to 7 minutes. After you have done this, return the jar to the freezer. Every 2 hours or so repeat this process for 72 hours (it’s okay if you don’t do it exactly every two hours). After the 3 days is up you can take the mixture out of the freezer and strain it through two layers of clean cheesecloth. Squeeze out the cheesecloth and save the remaining ball for effective topical use. The liquid that was collected by straining through the cheesecloth should then be filtered 2 times through a single paper coffee filter. While your are conducting this part of the process, be sure to wear gloves. If a clear liquor is used, the mixture should appear as a golden-green color. For those patients who are particularly sensitive to alcohol tastes, extremely sparse amounts of flavoring may be added, such as lemon, cherry, vanilla or banana. Lastly, add this mixture to a small, sterile spray bottle, food-coloring dropper, et cetera.

You will become the most popular person there, wandering around, offering pretty girls a suck on your dropper. Trust me on that one.
had got the best of me and I just had to It was very good
and I now carry it with me just incase the pain gets to strong and
I need a little something
find they taste horrible and will kinda burn the inside of your mouth however
it is very much worth it.
suggested flavours:
cinnamon
any fruit (whichever you prefer)
or anything that is not peppermint as the flavour constitutes itself as a Listerine flavoured abomination.
perfect for tastefully relieving nausea without a nausea inducing flavour.
As for e-cig vaping - there is a version of an ecig that vaps weed. Expensive toy worthless IMHO since the vap has to be refreshed almost after one hit. Keep in mind ecigs were made to deliver nicotine and that is waay more concentrated to hit than tinct or honeybee added to the ecig. There are a lot of fine battery operated pocket sized vap machines made just for weed. Stick to what works.
Are there other ways to do the conversion of THC-A into THC without heat? Any simple chemical process?
From that point, it is EASY to pull a nice alcohol or glycerin extraction of the product which has already converted into active THC. If you do this properly, the product will be ready to consume WITHOUT the need for further heat or specialized heat extractions.
If there is someone who is willing to help me (the poor guy)
I use 500ml of overproof rum & between 20 & 30 g of good buds &/or hash. For a tincture high in THC, it is essential to decarb the finely ground weed. I preheat the oven to 300F, put the weed in — all spread out on a tray — then turn off the oven. Remove after a few minutes or if you notice the material starting to steam.
For alcohol, I usually use 151-proof rum. There is no need to let the mixture soak for more than a day as the THC is dissolved off the pot pretty quickly & further soaking just releases chlorophyl & other nasty plant chemicals. Strain the resulting liquid a couple of times.
For those who find 75% alcohol a bit harsh (& it is), I evaporate much of it away by putting the tincture in a Pyrex measuring cup carefully submersed to near the top edge in boiling water. The hot water must be replaced every 20 or 30 minutes & evaporation is a slow, steady process, but after a couple of hours 500ml of high-alcohol tincture will have become 200ml of THC-rich, low-alcohol magic.
There is no good reason to heat the tincture above the temperature of boiling water. Too hot & the THC will be lost. Be patient & replace the hot water often. The alcohol will evaporate, leaving the THC & other cannabinoids safely in a more concentrated tincture.
Afterwards, I might flavour it with a bit of vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, even coffee. But a couple of squirts plain in a glass of ice water is very refreshing. You can pick up small dark-glass bottles with droppers at a pharmacy. Doesn't need to be kept in the freezer (I don't understand any of this freezer stuff... I just make it at room temperature... this ain't hash we're trying to make here). The alcohol helps preserve the state of the tincture; should last years if kept airtight & out of strong light.
Thanks.
My Steps:
-I Grind up 2 grams of MJ and mix in 3times the amount of everclear(vodka) 190% proof
-The mixture is kept in a glass jar with a cap, and its stored in the freezer 24/7 except for when I take it out to shake it.
My questions:
1)I did not preheat the herbs, and one of the 2 strains that I used were very sticky, should I be worried about the potency of my tincture?
2)I did not measure the ratio of MJ to Vodka, instead i just pour in 3x the amount of vodka to my MJ, so should I pour some out?
3)Finally, how many days do I need to keep it in the freezer for the extraction of THC to be complete?
2. whats a good dose amount?
3. for using the ball of excess kief in the cheesecloth for topical use, in what way should i use it for topical use?
So 2 questions:
1. anyone have consistent luck with a commercial brand of tincture we can try? we are in california.
2. we are trying to make our own. However, we only have shake. We put one oz [alas, we did not decarb, didn't know to do that] of greencrack shake in ~1 cup of 151 proof everclear. do we need additional time [beyond the 5 day rec freeze/shake/repeat] because we didn't decarb our shake?
thanks in advance if anyone has insights. MJ is the only thing that addresses our needs [we hate pills and morphine derivatives].
