This place was great before they switched bud tenders. When I started going here there was a younger guy who was extremely knowledgable and friendly. The front desk staff is always a young cute friendly girl. The medicine is top shelf (take note they re-stock on Mondays so if you come in on Sat/Sun they might be a little low). Unfortunately, the last few times I have gone, the new bud tender (this guy with discs in his ears) has had a real attitude problem. Always bitchy, doesn't want to give any information, then he digs out all the shake off the bottom of the jars to give you. Maybe he just doesn't like me, but I am friendly as hell to the guy so I don't think thats the case. Either way though, there are so many collectives in the area that I have decided to go somewhere else, it a pity to, because this place was great. Just goes to show you, you can have everything going for you, but a bad tender will ruin the whole thing.

The La Playa Beach Collective is easy to find and they have plenty of parking here as well. The staff weren't unusually friendly, but it seemed like the front desk girl was having a long day. I almost recommended to her to take a smoke break, but I figured that a corny attempt at making a weed joke in a dispensary to a chick that works there would only add more BS to her day than she needed. Any way, with my short wait time in the lobby I didn't have to deal with vibe for too much longer. The energy in the bud room was completely different. Much more welcoming. The menu was great. Top shelf strains, straight to the point, and not many distractions in the room either. I got a free eighth with my purchase as a first time purchase. Patients gifts like these are what all dispensaries should provide, but I guess we see who cares about their patients by the way they treat them. Good customer service and free tree is a great way to show patient appreciation. La Playa collective cares for their patients and it was evident throughout my visit her. I definitely recommend this place if you're anywhere near it.

They have a really good thing going on here from the nice location to the easy and fast registration. I like how they keep the menu simple yet have enough good variety to keep their patients interested. They had a good crowd so they must be doing something right. The very fragrant and lovely Lavendar, Indica buds are a good deal for $20 a gram with a #$50 cap on all 1/8ths. Nice to find a Sativa like Snow Cap that I haven't seen around a lot for as little as $10 a gram. They only have a small amount of Concentrates and Edibles but you gotta love the chewing gum!!! They have some first time gifts, specials and a recycling container incentive to reduce watste. They have good customer service, with helpful explanations of strains and top quality dank buds at affordable prices.

The place is very low key from the front. I really wasn't sure the type of business, which is cool. The name is great & so is the location. The girl doing the verification was casual. She verified me and I went right back in, with the tender. I did like the atmosphere, and could see it was a work in progress. The tender was not very knowledgeable at all, admittedly so. He was on ALOHA time, but friendly nonetheless. I was really disappointed that there were no edibles, because I had handpicked this place out of NUG magazine because of their advertisement of free edible on Monday with purchase and that was what i was looking to purchase. I had many beach area dispensaries to choose from, but felt obligated to make a purchase, ending up not getting what I wanted. It is advertised because it is supposed to attract customers, and though it was clearly written on the board and on my coupon, he acted surprised, it was edible day. He did make it up, by giving me a joint, but it just was not what i had gone there hoping for. I saw a review that seems as though it was written from an insider, because, I am here to say, no, it is not normal, to run out of edibles, when there is virtually no traffic. Better business to have what you advertise, that way people know that they can come to rely on you. Next the herb was a little dry and limited in selection. I felt like I was going the unconventional way to get medicine, in a friends place that had set up shop. Times are trying now, and customer service will definitely set you aside in these tough times. (Just a suggestion) Next I LOVE the idea of recycling the MMJ containers, but was a little grossed out about the recycled container program there, only because the guy helping me told me a lot of people had been donating medicine containers and that they were trying to make sure that doesn't happen anymore. i for one do not want residue on my herbs. I would like to be ensured that this is not going to happen. Not just, "We try." I will probably give this place another try next time I am at the beach and in need, but I won't go out of my way. Sorry, first impressions do matter. * With all due respect, it did look like these guys are just getting started setting up shop. & you have to start somewhere. The vibe in the place should help it go far.
