The Southern Lights
Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: Without a doubt, this sativa-dominant bud would be a great daytime medication for the indica-lover. It provides a strong body high, with an even stronger and uplifting cerebral effect.
Southern Lights is a most magnificent blend of a hearty New York City Diesel mother and a prime Sensi Star father. These buds are very elongated and often appear white with trichromes. The stench they give off is one of the most powerful, yet enjoyable ones, smelling of pure flowers and diesel.
Southern Lights maintains a fairly moderate stature, typically ranging in height from 40” to 60”, depending on grow medium, environment, et cetera. These plants also have a fairly bushy stature as well, which means that some of the 60” tall plants look like small trees with all their side-branching. Those who grow these ladies will also be thrilled to see a yield typically between 2 and 4 oz/plant, even indoors, when grown with 600w HPS lighting for flower. It’s recommended by the breeder to pull these ladies when the trichromes have reached around 20 - 25% amber, but for those who enjoy more of the body-high, harvesting around 30 - 40% amber may be more appropriate. Don’t be shy about feeding these robust ladies generous helpings of nutrients either. They also prefer a soil pH in the 6.4 to 6.6 range and can have as high of an ec as 2.2.
I know it’s been said about a lot of strains, but Southern Lights is the real deal. You will not want to pass this one up, especially if you see it in clone or seed form. Better yet, you can get some seeds directly from the breeder and start your pristine medicinal garden of Southern Lights now. So what are you waiting for? Go grab some Southern Lights buds from your local club, then grab either some clones or seeds. You’ve got to try this stuff.
