Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: The one time I was fortunate enough to try this strain, I was blown away - no pun intended - by the intensity of the high. It's a serious couch-lock effect that has a hashy, earthy and skunky flavor and makes your limbs feel like they're filled with lead.
If you don't get to try hash made from Slyder then you have seriously missed out. This strain is a cross of Afghani and Northern Lights and causes a sedative couch-lock effect. This strain first gained popularity in the Netherlands during the 1980’s when a cannabis pioneer returned from Afghanistan with some prime seeds. Sagarmatha Seeds then crossed these Afghani seeds with Northern Lights to create Slyder, a mostly indica variety.
It’s recommended by the breeder to vegetate Slyder until they form between 5 to 7 sets of nodes, at which point they should either be topped or put into a Sea of Green grow to maximize the yield. She stays relatively short and bushy, not usually reaching over 40” in height and producing fat top colas that reek of sticky hash. Speaking of hash, when you harvest these ladies don’t even think about making butter with the trimmings/buds. You should do yourself a huge favor and make hash out of them so you can stay baked while you wait for your buds to dry and cure. Most who cultivate these robust ladies will notice a fairly consistent 8 to 9 week flowering period. You won’t have to worry too much about pests either as they have shown to be particularly resistant to most varieties.
Take my advice. Before you medicate with this powerful strain, you should get a comfortable area set up, at which you should plan to spend at least an hour. It wouldn’t hurt to grab your favorite foods and set them very close to that area, as this strain defines the term “couch-lock.” Eighths of this bud will go for a reasonable $55 when you can find it in dispensaries, since it’s mostly popular in Europe.
