The long-flowering times required for the NYC Diesel marijuana strain scares a lot of the indoor cultivators away. With so many strains available today that require just over 40 days to reach full maturity, it's difficult to make the financial leap to double the time required before harvest. However, for outdoor gardeners, and those who afford the indoor waiting, the NYC Diesel cannabis strain is difficult to beat in many ways. She hails from New York City were a dreads-to-the-ground Rastafarian gifted the seeds to Soma, saying it was the best he had ever smoked. In truth, she has an exotic taste like none other; a complex meshing between red grapefruit and cherry.

The NYC Diesel cannabis strain has placed 2nd in the Cannabis Cup's Best Sativa category on 3 separate occasions: 2001, 2003 and 2004. Toke her to receive a clear, lucid and energizing mental journey accompanied with effective analgesic properties that keep moving possible. She is an excellent helper for beating depression and anxiety. She wants you to eat too, so be prepared for the munchies! Obviously, breeders around the planet are thinking about how to make the NYC Diesel marijuana strain flower faster. That's definitely the only negative aspect about her.
This strain has been bred-re-bred so many times the original NYCD doesn't exist anymore, there are different phenos everywhere. A few major name brand versions of this strain come from Soma seeds (Variants NY Special), they mixed it w/ a blueberry indica and they yielded 6Lbs each. Need I say more? When I first smoked the true strain of this it smelled like rotting, sweet fruit,OJ or Grapefruit/Lemon/Fuel,Heavy greasy buds/narcotic it was mixed with a WONDERFUL Hawaiian indica 10/10 BLASTED! Long red hairs smelled of anise(like cloves), It was a sativa major VERY wispy hairs/Buds maybe 20/80 I been looking for this phenotype for over 6 years. The strain looks like this Afghani x Mexican sativa x Hawaiian indica If found I'm interested in buying.!!! I have a legal valid MMJ card for Ca. State firstname.lastname@example.org
I have a clone of this from a socal disp 10-12 weeks flowering doesnt like to much heat doesnt like to be to cold or to high of humidity. Difficult plant to grow and buds take a while to pack on weight. But the smell is out of this world one of the best smells I have came across. Last time I will grow it though.
I remember the happy days when 3 o's of this stuff were in my possession. =) Lets get down to the smell... it smells STRIKINGLY similar to Alfalfa (chinchilla food), which is like a heavy piney smell. Upon smoking it, the diesely, sweet taste kicks the smell of the buds to the curb. Upon venturing into your bowl, it almost feels as if the clouds in your mind begin clearing up, and the sweet cerebral high will have you in positive contemplation for hours. I would say about 1.5 to 2 hours in is when the indica runs its course, letting you come down nice and light with a comfortable body high. This strain (when properly grown) shouldn't be labeled as average, where a fair rating would DEFINITELY be above-average, at least. The first time I sampled it, it automatically became one of my most favorite strains to date!
I found that This is one of my least favorite strains however I love how easy it is to grow inside and out and how it looks the texture is a really amazing thing to look at
Had a batch of this and man did it just stink in a bad way. Might have been a bad sack but it tainted my view of this strain.
My brother brought a little of this by and it was a pretty average little bud not bad but not special in anyway. If you need a good mellow high and slightly cheaper strain this is a good choice.
