Granddaddy Purple Marijuana Description
Green bud nuggets begin to show purple hues as they mature on Granddaddy Purple cannabis plants. This all-Indica marijuana strain is known worldwide for its many phenotypes that include Grape Ape, Grandaddy Grape Ape and Purple Erkel to name just a few. The strain hails from the Northern Californian hills as it has for more than 20 years. It grows very well indoors, either in water, air or soil. It has a predisposition to be short in bushy, as Indicas will. Extensive branching makes this lady a not-so-good candidate for Sea of Green cultivation. However, she is able to produce heavy yields when left to growing the way she prefers. Indoors, this shrub-like plant will grow up to 3 feet. Outdoors, up to eight. Internodes are tight, leaves are dark green/purple, and overall, Granddaddy Purple is a hardy grower.
At all points of the growth cycle, Granddaddy Purple medicinal cannabis is able to be easily worked with. She likes the temperature kept cool, right around 75° F. However, as long as you give her at-least-adequate nutrients, water and lighting, you'll find her to be a vigorous grower. Like a true Indica strain will, Granddaddy Purple weed will give you an incredibly deep body stoning. Count on that. Experiment often and always enjoy giving a serious toke to some primo Granddaddy Purple cannabis!

Still my favorite strain. First I ever smoked about 4 years ago.

I must say very pleased has a flowery almost lavender / earthy taste with a buzz that will leave you stuck on your couch and zoned off into space...
It was the dispensaries strain that sucked. The gram I bought today has great taste and it is all around perfect.
So that just taught me that sometimes the dispensary might have bad batches.
It was very nice. Beautiful crystals, gorgeous purple color, thick dark orange hairs.
I find the high to be perfect for me. It takes away alot of stress and anxiety. It is a real mellow deep high. Would be perfect before yoga. relaxing and watching a movie, or before bed.
overall: 7/10
eventhough its a great strain, its high is very groovy but not as groovy as other strains.
The buds are usually gorgeous, very dense, and crystal coated. Properly maintained GDP has shades of purple throughout, although I have also smoked real nice GDP that isn't purple at all. Very strong and relaxing indica!
The smell is the signature purple must that is pungent that you can help but want to medicate. The texture is always dense and appealing. The color of it is such a dark purple that you can't believe it's an actual plant. It just seems perfect.
Once you try it, it's hard to hate. A fruity medley explodes in your mouth and make you think you might not want to ever try another strain. The high last around 1-1.5 hours and you'll want to taste the meds again around then, but you might be too medicated to do so. Overall, a high recommendation.
She smells sweet and a little fruity, like grapes and apples. Very dense, most GDP flowers will either be small nugs or broken chunks from large colas. The greatest pleasure, however, is in tasting it. How do you describe the taste of cinnamon, or chocolate, to someone who’s never tried it? This is the same problem myself and others writing about GDP face. To me, the taste of GDP is earthy and sweet, like rich mud and candy mixed together. It is so smooth, and delicious. GDP is pretty potent too, so it’s wise to savor the taste of only a dose or two at a time. The effects are nicely balanced, but the relaxation is dominant over the mild, steady hum of the cerebral electricity. It’s easy to consume too much GDP because it tastes so good, but it’s nothing a good night’s sleep won’t take care of.
Awesome strain overall that’s versatile for many situations, with the exception of morning and productivity sessions.
