Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: Golden Moon is a true creeper strain, with the full effect not setting in for nearly 15 minutes after smoking or vaporizing. The high is composed of intense but relaxing body effects, with slight cerebral stimulation that evokes somewhat strange, psychedelic thoughts.
This strain was created by crossing a Golden Skunk female with a Mazar male. The cross combined the best qualities of the two parents, while ensuring unwanted characteristics did not show through. These buds are very round, somewhat large and display a myriad of colors, including pink, red, blue and green. Golden Moon puts off a pungently pleasant aroma of Skunk and fruit, with flavors composed mostly of Skunk and hash. Look for this strain to require a donation of around $30 to $40 per eighth in most dispensaries.
These ladies do not grow to be very tall, so indoor growers can feel comfortable vegetating them as long as eight weeks, which will help to drastically improve the low yield of this strain. They tend to flower for seven to eight weeks, and will not likely need stake support for the colas. When cultivated outdoors they will be ready for harvest by the middle to end of September, in the Northern Hemisphere. Gardeners will want to limit the amount of nutrients they feed Golden Moon, as it has been noted to be incredibly sensitive to nutrient burn. This is not a strain to be grown in a humid environment either, as it has a propensity to acquire powdery mildew. Other than that, it should be a relatively easy strain to cultivate, even for new or beginning growers.
