Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: While the high is not as potent as some of the top-shelf indica varieties, it does provide above average effects that last almost an hour, providing good medicinal relief.
Deep Chunk was carefully selected as the female to breed with AK47, to produce the strain we now know as Deepaka. These old-world genetics of each parent strain have long-since been regarded as classic, vintage cannabis strains. The crossing of these two strains created a new strain with excellent vigor, yields, flavor and well-above average potency. Flavors primarily consist of tangy lemon and pine, with identical aromas. The aroma tends to have a slightly sweeter smell, but for the most part is quite the same.
Deepaka will do very well when vegetated no longer than 5 weeks, indoors. After flipping the switch to flowering, they should be ready for harvest after 8 to 9 weeks of maturing. Outdoor gardens which include Deepaka will see them ready for harvest by the beginning of October. Especially for an indica, this strain typically rewards growers with a bountiful harvest of large, chunky buds. It's recommended to utilize some type of support for the massive colas, as they mature, in order to prevent them from snapping under their own weight. During the final weeks of flowering, Deepaka will begin to turn blue and lavender on her fan leaves, as nutrients are pulled from them, and into the buds.
