Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: This strain has an incredibly soothing, relaxing and almost meditative effect that can last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour-and-a-half. Great late-afternoon or nighttime smoke.
Deep North was created when the breeder combined the genetics of a Northern Lights #5 female with those of a Deep Chunk male. The Deep Chunk was Tom Hill's cut, known for incredible potency and high yields. Deep North has buds that are incredibly frosty with trichomes, a few short, orange pistils, medium density and amazingly potent aroma, flavor and effect. On the inhale with this strain there is almost no noticeable flavor. However, the exhale with power-packed with lively flavors of ancient Kush, earth, incense and citrus, with a slight aftertaste of strawberries or cherries.
In order to harvest the biggest yield possible, while producing buds with large numbers of trichomes, the breeder recommends vegetating these ladies a solid 8 weeks, if grown from seed and 6 to 7 weeks if grown from clone. Allowing Deep North to vegetate that long will increase the somewhat mediocre yield, as well as increase the already loaded contents of cannabinoids. It's best to allow these ladies to grow in soil, with some added organic nutrients, such as sulfides, mycorrhizae and molasses-based teas. Growing organically also seems to supplement the already outstanding flavors and aroma of Deep North. It can be said with certainty that Deep North is truly a connoisseur strain.
