Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: The effects are very cerebral, resulting in greater productivity and minimal drowsiness. Calvin would be a great strain for enjoying a wake-n-bake or any other time during the day.
While the buds are somewhat fluffy and somewhat airy, Calvin is still a quality sativa variety that is great for a variety of medical ailments, without causing couch-lock or much drowsiness. This is a strain that is not recommended for treatment of severe pain, insomnia or other severe ailments. Recreationally, Calvin is used mostly during the day, but isn't going to keep people up at night like a true Haze variety would. Look for eighths of Calvin to run for around $45 in most dispensaries.
Calvin has a lot of fan and sugar leaves, which makes harvesting more difficult. On the flip side, however, many growers like to use these plentiful trimmings to make hash or butter. This strain may be grown indoors or outdoors. Outdoors it can reach 7 feet tall when grown directly in the ground, so this is something for growers to take into consideration if discretion is desired. Calvin responds well to most types of training, showing minimal signs of stress. Expect this strain to be ready for harvest by the middle of October, when grown outdoors, and flower for 8 or 9 weeks, when grown indoors. Be sure not to overfeed these ladies, as they are somewhat prone to nute burn.
