  • Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: By far some of the more flavorful bud I've tried lately, African Queen offers intense flavors of tropical fruit, skunk and earth, resulting in a fairly potent, long-lasting high.

African Queen gets its name from its mother and father, Durban Poison and Space Queen. Durban Poison is a highly potent, nearly pure sativa from South Africa. Space Queen is a highly regarded sativa-dominant strain from the lush region of British Columbia. Itís hard to tell what the actual color of these dense, buds is because they are absolutely caked in milky-white trichromes. The buds break apart very nicely and are a favorite among patients who medicate with joints and/or vaporizers.

While these ladies can get quite tall, they still maintain a sturdy, hearty stature that will support the massive, elongated buds that form over a consistent 8 weeks of flowering. Around week 6, these potent mamas give off a pungent danky, floral and skunky smell that will require adequate carbon filtering. The yield from this strain has shown to be above average at the minimum, but usually leans more towards the heavy side of the spectrum.

Rich, crisp, fresh and lively flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, sweet candy and skunk make for one helluva flavor combination. African Queen produces a sativa-dominant effect that incorporates a relatively strong and relaxing body high. Eighths of this bud typically go for around $50 in Northern California.

This is what I call a "think-piece". In a vaporizer at 215 degrees Celcius it starts light with a rich mint/lime taste. Once it warms up, it delivers a potent buzz which compliments music, movies and general free-thinking. Not recommended for social situations with sober people, as even with regular use it becomes fairly obvious that you're baked out of your skull. You become chatty and fun, but at the same time rambling and distracted. Time distortion is very pronounced. Expect a flood of profound thoughts to be processed in a few minutes, feeling like hours. If you have it before bed, get ready for a night of very interesting dreams. It seems to have a rather potent half-life for sleep, as many times I've woken up the next day and soon slip into random thoughts, as if the effects were dormant while I slept. Warnings aside (and taken as proper precaution) this is an excellent strain and I recommend it highly. Pun intended.

When I had this I didn't think it was super strong, but I also ate some medical ice cream so I couldn't tell which one was giving me the most effect. It did have a ton of trichomes, but it seemed a bit harsh like the particular version I had was chemically burned. Maybe they used too many nutrients. I definitely thought it was a little sweet but also had some kind of earthy Diesel-ish sort of taste. It is a hard strain to find, maybe because seeds or clippings of it are expensive or rare.

This bud is definitely highly flavorful and gives a strong, but not overpowering high. It's not going to be the most potent bud you've ever had, but the actual high is very enjoyable. I recently tried some of this from Natural Herbal Pain Relief in San Jose and would recommend it to anyone as a good daytime medication.
