Each to their own, but each do come with a price. If your easy going and enjoy wrapping your j in some zag, then that's all it takes for you.
But, lets also think of the technology and work put into each product. Anyways, thats my two cents.
-Smoke Wisely ;)
However the iolite is a lot smaller (i.e. it's actually portable) and is so smooth that often you think you're getting nothing - but sure enough the hit creeps up on you just as strong as any other method, though it won't hit you as hard as a bong.
If you're going to complain about the cost then you'll obviously baulk at buying the Volcano , so hitech vape won't be for you. They're expensive , yeah , but thats just how they are. In my opinion, if you want to save your lungs and get a smoother hit and have something that is portable, then they are worth every penny.
There's a new version out that I haven't tried, the main difference AFAICS is that the new one has a bendy straw to suck on whereas this one has a solid straw (hard plastic with a metal screwing mecahnism) and the reason they redesigned it was cos these hard ones do break if you drop them or do something else stoopid, like putting them in your pocket without taking the straw off then sit on your pocket etc. Ours got broken when someone who should have known better dropped it. Until then we had never broken it so if you're careful you'll be fine. Replacements aren't expensive
All our friends are now converts to the iolite, it is descrete, easy to use and works very well. It doesn't make you cough and also it doesnt smell anywhere near as much as other methods, yes there is some smell, but it's much less of a giveaway.
The gas needs topping up usually once in the course of a full evening's smoking, i.e. it lasts pretty reasonably , probably for about three or four herb refills. Each herb fill will allow a reheat and still give a good hit, when it tastes dry you know it needs a new fill of herb.
Probably not for REALLY hardened tokers, it's probably a bit light for them, but for weekenders like us it is really unbeatable for convenience and for the taste , cool toke and the hit.Having said that , our friends that smoke all the time seem very taken with it. If you are (like me) of a nervous disposition then this is a far gentler way of imbibing than any other method, perhaps with the exception of the Volcano, which is about the same.
I find that I take three or four really long draws on it and that usually sets me up for an hour or so, sometimes longer depending on the strain of herb.
Highly recommended
