Stories like this are everywhere these days and I think it's making people more aware of the medical marijuana controversy. Being an optomist, I think it may have a positive effect on the general public as they become more educated and informed. The pharmacuetical companies can only have a strong hold over us if we allow it. If we had a mass movement to boycott many of their harmful prescriptions they would be forced out of the market. As advocates continue to push and research provides positive data the dispensaries should begin to thrive.

It is really sad for those MA residents who would benefit from MMJ and cannot afford to move out of state so they can obtain medical cannabis leagally. And really the pharmacuetical companies are government approved so it is under their control (or "regulation")
Don't forget that the pharmaceutical companies have already tried to create their own 'THC' element compound into a pill so they can provide/sell over the counter; IT FAILED, the elements did not have the same effect on the mind and body than cannabis grown naturally...

Maybe I'm having one of those moments of just duh. But it seems MA by the decriminalization, and having doctors state it is a valid medicine for many, are they not trying to ride both sides of the fence at one time. What harm could come from allowing the dispensaries from administering a medication that works far better for so many than to have a pharmaceutical company push their drugs? Just listen to the side effects the next time a drug commercial comes on tv, uncontrollable anal leakage (my favorite), heart attack, death, and coma just to name a few. Now how bad can allowing those dispensaries be when you think of the alternative.

People often lose the message when the term dispensary is thrown around. These are compassion clubs designed to increase access for those who are determined to be in need of cannabis for medical ailments. Crime is an issue that police should deal with, not just say this industry is too prone to crime and therefore should be illegal. Rules and Regulations are key if we are going to be taken seriously as an enterprise.

How can you argue with expert opinion? I suppose they won't be happy until they receive mounds and mounds of concrete proof. Also, when their economy is boosted by this then they'll be sure to leave the issue alone.

WHAT? I AM SO SICK OF PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT VIOLENCE AND POT. GET YOUR HEADS OUTTA YOUR ASSES, IT IS NOT THE POT THAT CAUSES THE VIOLENCE..... IT IS MONEY!!!!!! WHY DOES A PERSON SELL POT? HUMMM... BECAUSE WHEN THE PEOPLE ARE OPPRESSED THEY WILL FIND ANY WAY POSSIBLE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ONES THEY LOVE, TO PUT A COUPLE CRAPPY BOXES OF MAC 'N' CHEESE AND SHITTY FISH STICK ON A PLATE FOR THEIR KIDS. IF THE RICH DIDN'T TAKE A PART EVERYTHING WE OWN MAYBE WE WOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE A SOCIETY THAT WORK TOGETHER INSTEAD OF BEING FED FEAR AND BEING BRAIN WASHED TO DISLIKE EACH OTHER. THERE ARE FEW CRIMES COMMITTED OUT OF PURE HATE OR EVIL. MOST CRIMES ARE COMMITTED AS A WAY TO MAKE SHATTERED ENDS MEET. THE ONLY REASON POT IS NOT LEGAL IS BECAUSE THE RICH AND POWERFUL ASSHOLES WHO THINK THEY KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR A BILLION PEOPLE THEY WILL NEVER MEET HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT A WAY TO COMPLETELY SCREW THE PEOPLE OUTTA EVERY RED CENT THEY HAVE A CHANCE OF MAKING ON THIS GREAT PLANT THAT HAS BEEN GROWING FOR FREE FOR OVER 50,000,000 YEARS.

I agree with the guest that the whole issue falls at the feet of money, there and no where else. The rich are trying to force their opinions on everyone for their own personal gain. These stories are great in that they spread the word about mmj. But until everyone realizes that it will always be about the money there will be no change. Sorry but until everyone gets the amount of money that they feel they need no real movement will be made forward. The facts are real and concrete in the fact that mmj helps to make a suffering person's life more tolerable. There period.

I mean let the fakes try and come up with a reason to get it. While, people with real medical issues that qualify should get it no problem. I'm prepared to gladly give the Doctor my prescrip for perc's if the marijuana actually works like the percoset does in relieving my pain. Simple as that. I don't need those pills side effects. I don't like the drunk feeling I get. I'd much rather be given other alternatives that might work. I've tried many different avenues to get the pain deep in my hip. It's been a long, long haul. I get no assistance from the state and was forced to retire on a medical disability from my job. I'm not a welfare case. I'm a College grad and homeowner who's been thru the ringer for the past 4 years. I've tried injections, computer guided injections, trigger point injections. Anti-inflammatory pills, this pill that pill. Lidocaine patches, Physical therapy, water therapy. To name a few. Now going in for my first surgery on my labrum and long after my original diagnosis of a pagetic bone disease. I can't take my pain pills every day. That's me. I have 2 little girls to help raise Could I smoke or however they do it every day? I'm not sure. But I have smoked before and can't say the side effects are anywhere's nearly as bad as what the pills are. But truth be told. They work. Let's pass the ballot question number 3. Why should giant pharmaceutical companies monopolize and limit our doctors arsenal to actually help people? Pill for this, pill for that. How about something we can actually produce and harvest ourselves? I don't see how people can have no issue with a drink vodka or puff down a cigarette knowing the damage it's proven to cause, but that's ok? I fail to see the logic. Let's not forget the economics and politics of the issue. If money starts rolling in it will look like a windfall to local cities and towns who can barely make ends meet now. It's time. I mean the state is going to have it's fingers in every pie there is so the idea it's going to be a wild, wild west scenario is far fetched at best.
