I respect the canadian government a little more knowing they actually listen to the people. Any government spending on prosecuting/rehabilitating/incarcerating of small time recreational MJ user's is completely pointless, if not actually wasting government resources, and the tax payers dollar. Almost all of the reason's given as to why MJ is illegal have been proven wrong, and in some cases it's actually been proven to be a very potent medicine. It's also projected to have some of the best effects on an economy, thats it's literally the new Cash crop. Legalization maybe asking to much to soon, but rescheduling and reducing the penalty of small time possession is a necessity.

I agree, I think that it is easier for government to listen to those who are supposed to be in authority and police officers definitely fill that role. It is good to hear that the medical marijuana community is gaining more diverse support.
