i am pro-legalization, but i think if the governemtn wants to get some accurate statistics they should go about it like a census....go to household to household take opinions or some shit
Thats kind of how a poll is conducted. Its just a different word for survey or census. All about the same thing.
As much as we'd all love to see it, I find it hard to believe they will ever legalize marijuana. At the end of the day, the government and judicial systems make too much money on it being illegal. Then you have all the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies that aren't going to sit idly aside and let profit slip through their fingers. They'll be greasing politicions pockets like they were at a quick lube. In case no one's noticed, we are NOT a democracy. We are a country ran by big corporations with the government like puppets on their strings.
Funny the government considers marijuana a schedule 1 controlled substance, which by definition is a drug that has no medicinal purpose... Yet they hold patents on its medicinal use. I'd love to hear a high ranking official that has authority on changing the classification explain that one.
^^Great comment, couldn't have said it better myself medman...

I am pro-legalization however I'm worried on what happens after that. Like things about over commercializing weed. If people decide its not cool then they might move on too harder shit.
^^
If you haven't noticed they have moved on to "harder shit" already. Between the Spice, K2, bath salts, heroine, meth, crack, alcohol, cocaine, and tons of prescription drugs... I still say pot is a far lesser evil than any listed above and people are doing them without marijuana being "over commercialized". There is always going to be some idiot that thinks those drugs won't take hold of them like it has millions of people before and try it. Marijuana being legalized would do so much more for the medical community than anything. Once legalized a declassified as a schedule 1 drug, the medical community will finally be able to use this miracle plant to truly help people. There will be government and pharmaceutical company funds put into studying the unlimited medicinal properties found in one plant. I think that benefit alone would far out way any amount of people that would decide that pot isn't cool enough for them.
On another note while writing this I had a thought. If they legalized and all this research went into marijuana, there would be a ton of growers getting hired to grow meds for testing. They aren't going to want some scientist schmuck growing schwag weed. They'll get people that have been perfecting it for years. Just a thought.
This represents our population, but how are we supposed to get results when there is no parallel in voter turnout? Literally every person who thinks legalization is a good idea would have to go and vote for it.

Its time to legalize. I registered to vote 2 years ago just for this reason.

You guys are funny. Pretending medicinal marijuana is not anything more than an excuse to get stoned when other medications would do. You also seem to be ignoring that it's a gateway drug for many people, and would make the already rampant drug problem in America even worse with even more younger kids getting access to then do now. And noo, that myth that "everybody who would be getting high, already is" is not true. It is a myth, and a crock of s**t. Just admit it already, you social users and addicts alike just don't want to be hassled by the cops. That's what the whole legalization thing is about and always has been about.
^^^
Idiots like you are funny. "Other medications" that are man made synthetic forms of the same stuff found in medicinal cannabis. It should be our choice to medicate as we see fit, now how some bureaucrat tells us we can. Your gateway drug excuse is the only crock of shit I see. You might want to check in your medicine cabinets at home if your looking for a gateway drug. Addict is a word associated with crack or heroine, not cannabis(unless your a right wing conservative). You want to put a stop to "rampant drug problem" start with the drugs that destroy lives, not save them.

^^^ Not even going to get into this... why are you on this forum again ??? #CannaConnoisseur
They probably caught their kid with a bag of weed and needed someone else to blame. After they washed down there xanax with a glass of wine they got keyboard courage. I've been thinking about this whole "gateway drug" b.s. that people throw out there all the time. You interview 100 meth heads, crack heads, or heroin junkies, and I guarantee your not gonna hear a single one say, "Man I wish I never would have started smoking pot..." People need to pull their heads out of their asses.

Come on Florida! Now is OUR TIME. Why should we have to break the law when others can just go into pot stores like visiting an ABC Liquor Store only much, much better? And in line with what one of the posters hgmedman stated above, NOT ALL RIGHT WING CONSERVATIVES are against pot use OR ABUSE. This Proud Right Wing Conservative has been waiting since 1971 for full legalization medicine or not! Have you ever asked yourself Why Your "fearless" Left Wing Liberal Leader is so against reefer? I thought not. Sign me as Buzz Carey ~ Lake City, Florida. I don't need to HIDE under the name of GUEST... Thanx...
