Well we can tell the same story and have the same requests regarding ANY sales rep in ANY sales job! I remember when I first started at Nextel...business to business sales...and these people didn't know shit! ALOT of people don't know how to sell...This isn't a car lot...but then again these people aren't paid like sales reps either...If they were I think you would see more dedication to the job...I would find a new dispensary...or once you find one that you do like find out when they work and see only them. I know I get more love from one or two of my favorite folks over at EPG in Riverside...(love them fyi!!) They aren't all bad surly...and if they are...then we need to do a story on them lol!! Tell me which ones they are and I will write the review...lol Don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch! Keep lookin...

I do think it is odd when I go to a place and someone can't recommend something for me. I worked at a dispensary, and personally I always made it a point to know something about everything we had, in order to be able to better inform fellow patients about what kind of medicine they were getting. I think it would be nice if more dispensary operators and dedicated workers took this mindset as well.

I agree with you, if they had commission-based sales, rewards for monthly goals or more initiatives, then a lot more people would be knowledgeable in any industry. Of course there are places where the people rock all the time, like OCPG in Santa Ana, the only time the workers were ever down there is when they thought they were closing shop and they were so sad about it. I agree with you that it is best to find those one or two places where you feel most comfortable and keep going back. I do think that once you are a repeat customer people begin to recognize you and care about your business, also true for any sales industry. I am definitely interested in checking out EPG, if they got your seal of approval! Riverside is only about 25 miles from me... Worth a trip for a new experience, and perhaps a new delicious strain!

I've been in some that the staff seemed a little out there in what they knew, but I only wanted to get what I needed and leave not a lesson. I try to learn which one I want before I go and then try different ones. I look under the glass to see if it looks like what I want and go from there. So whether or not they know what they are talkin about i just go with the flow.

I think workers and staff should be very knowlegeable about the medicine and even have tried it prior to trying to sell it. Its annoying when you go somewhere and they cannot answer simple questions or when they have a stupid ass backward boards that have prices but dont makes sense as far as the strains.

I have been helping patient, patients of bass during five years. The attitude of not many of these you count on of employees me because I am correctly I have more knowledge in the muck under my nails that they reaped leafed through last the High Times of the month.

That sounds as a big one plan. I always receive the impression that the clubs employee’s majority are friendly or the families and that they marked their "work of dream".

Some clubs are better that others in this I respect, but the notion that they there are going to treat the patient looks foreign to many of them. I requested works some dispensaries, never discussed a salary, and was laughed for outside the door.

I agree with that, new dispensary owners should be aware that it's not all about money. You should care about product knowledge, not just hiring the hottest chicks you can.

If I were to go into a dispensary would most employees know which strain would be more beneficial in treating my back pain and not just get me high. I have been researching for sometime now and have come to learn that I would be better medicated with a strain higher in CBD and lower in THC. I'm still researching to see if cannabis would be a good fit for me and the rest of my regular day to day life. But as much as I look thru different sites for information on which strains have what I'm looking for there is no information posted on the various strains and the reviews most people post is about getting high and not many if any at all in regards to how it affected the ailment they are supposedly using cannabis for. most dispensary owners are clueless themselves about a whole lotta shit... like, how the people that work there are called volunteers, but everyone is getting paid in some sort of way. The other day I had a girl who called me and asked if "we were hiring volunteers"....I couldn't stop laughing, she asked what was wrong, why I was laughing?? I said cuz you just contradicted yourself. She asked, How? I said, how do you hire a volunteer? When you hire, you pay...but, volunteers work for free, so how do you hire a volunteer?? This isn't her fault. It's all these pot head people who came up with a couple of dollars to open a store and think they're smart, and are coming up with their own interpretations of how things should be. Oh, another great one is, taking donations and handing out weed in exchange...WTF?? is this bazaro world?? I understand it's a non-profit, but I never received anything back after making a donation in any other non-profit. What makes this different??/ aaaaahhhhhhh, they're all fucken stoned, that's why. hahahahaa

There was a place in Costa Mesa that I loved. They were really patient-oriented, and they had a huge list on the wall of medical ailments and the strains that they offered to treat these conditions. It was run by a retired nurse and she really cared about what you were medicating for. Unfortunately it was closed because of a city-wide ordinance, along with almost all of the dispensaries in the Newport-Mesa area. Places like that dispensary should be the standard. I hope for the sake of their patients that they find a new place to continue their work.

This question is for dispensary owners. Why do you employ so many workers who are clueless about the product they are selling? I'm a long-time grower and patient and based on a series of questions I ask your employees, it's clear to me that about half of them know little about medical marijuana. I overhear a lot of conversations and advice in clubs, and the amount of misinformation I hear being thrown around blows my mind. I know more about the subject than most, and I don't expect everybody to know everything, but misinformation is dangerous and unfortunate. Covering the basics should be mandatory and if the worker doesn't know the basics, they should not be selling mmj.

that's cuz they are probably "volunteer" employees...that's why. if that's even possible.
