My friend was arrested last night with 107 pounds of weed. Anyone know of a REALLY REALLY good lawyer? Preferably one that specializes in marijuana cases. Shit sucks, penalty in Oregon 1 - 6 years for over 100 GRAMS, so I can only imagine what they'll try to slam him with for over 100 lbs.

Thanks, he had his preliminary hearing and now is just awaiting the main trial. His lawyer thinks he might get him off on coercion by the police and threats they made towards him, as well as exaggerating things in their report. Another thing he has going for him is that the cops pocketed all the cash he had with him, so he won't get charged for trafficking.

Cops pocketing someone's cash...no way. Sounds like something the good old boys club known as the LCSD would do up here. Gotta love our corrupt system and its administrators. Hope everything works out for your friend.

Thanks, on one hand we're all pretty worried, on the other it does sound like he has some things on his side. 107 is a lot of weed though.
