Strawberry Sativa Muffins
In a bowl combine the 1/2 cup of cane sugar and freshly sliced strawberries, stirring them together and setting aside for an hour. Drain any liquid that pools up and set aside for use later. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease or butter a muffin pan. You can skip this step if you have paper muffin cups. In a separate large bowl mix the softened canna butter and 1/4 cup cane sugar, subsequently mixing in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Next, mix in the flour, salt, nutmeg, baking soda and juice from the berries. Now stir in the strawberries. Once mixed, you may spoon the batter into the muffin pan and place in the preheated oven to bake for 23 - 27 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out of the center clean.
