Olive Oil

Cannabis-infused olive oil

Marijuana-infused olive oil is a favorite among such renowned Cannabis chefs as Doctor Diane. Depending on the dosage, this medication can severely incapacitate even the most seasoned of Cannabis users. The following is a slightly adapted version of Doctor Dianeís famous olive oil recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 lbs dry bud or dry trimmings
  • 5 cups water (in the pot)
  • 2 cups high-grade olive oil
  • Materials:

  • Pressure cooker or crock pot
  • Grape press or extra-large coffee press pot
  • 1 Medium-length metal spoon
  • Latex gloves (not the ones with powder on them)
  • Clean Container
  • Clean Tupperware
  • Fine grape press filter or coffee filter
  • Directions:

Place the 5 cups of water in the pot and bring to a simmer (not a rolling boil). Add the 2 cups of oil and either ľ lb of dry bud or trimmings. Do not stir, as the moving water will do this for you. Cover and turn the heat down to medium-low. You donít want to cook the water off because this helps to keep your product from burning, and thus wasting the THC. After 20 minutes turn down the heat all the way to low. After an additional 40 minutes (1 hour total) turn off the heat and remove the pressure cooker (or crock pot) from the heat surface. The remaining matter in the pot should look like wet mashed up lawn clippings with much of the liquid remaining.

Next, scoop the matter in your crock pot or pressure cooker into your grape press or press pot. While you are doing this, ensure that you spread the matter evenly in the press, so as to get maximum pressing ability. Pour any remaining liquid into the press, as this is where the majority of the THC is concentrated. Heat up 2 cups of water and pour it over what is in the grape press or press pot. Use a fine filter and tighten this over your clean container with rubber bands or something similar. Next, begin the press the matter, slowly but steadily. The funnel from the grape press should be running into your clean container. The color running through the funnel (if itís clear) should be dark green and gold with some tan intertwined. Make sure you get all of the oil, as you wonít want to waste one drop of this precious medication (you may have to tilt the press to get all of the liquid into your container. Squeeze out the filter over your container (this is where gloves come in especially handy, as you can become extremely high just from touching the mix) to get all of the oil. The oil should appear as an inch or so wide layer on top with more water underneath. Place this container in the freezer to solidify overnight.

When you pull the container out of your freezer the next day, you should have a clean Tupperware (or similar container) nearby. Use a metal spoon to scrape off the solidified yet somewhat doughy (it is similar to Play-Doh) mixture and place it in your container. The mix should be a light green color. Any brown matter you see is water and as much of this as possible should be removed. Once you have successfully collected all of this precious mix it will be ready to medicate with. Store it in the freezer or it will go bad.

Warning: Ĺ cup of this olive oil is equivalent to 1 ounce of marijuana. Use appropriately for your specific needs. This savory treat is great to spread on toasted bread, use in some of your favorite cooking recipes, and even makes for an extremely effective topical medication.

I love to cook and olive oil has always been my favorite oil of choice. But adding weed to the mix, WOW now we're cooking. It has a tendency to enhance some flavors but it will over power others. If you are a cook of any kind and need your weed this is a definite possibility.

I love to cook with olive oil too and have always been tempted to try the medicated versions I've seen at some dispensaries. It's great to have these receipes provided here in this section. It will save me many trips to the internet as I don't have a medicinal cookbook. Thanks to cannabissearch.com now I can go directly to this site.

This is a great recipe, and explained so well. I like to use cannabis-infused olive oil to make an italian salad dressing for a dish I call 'pastafarian salad'. The oil is great because its so versatile, and can be used for basically anything as long as you don't go too high with temperature. That's why I like to use it for salad dressings, because they are served cold. Baking brownies with it is great too, and if you use peanut oil instead of olive oil, you can mix it into peanut butter and have your own tainted PB&J for lunch everyday. :) I think that wearing gloves is one of the most important steps when extracting the oil. I know that some people might disregard that and think they can handle it, but it's really not a good idea.

i bought a bottle of olive oil the other night and made some amazing pasta concotion that i found in my local nug mag. this is a nice easy way to eat a nice healthy dinner and get your meds at the time. it took about 30 mins for it to kick in but when it did it hit hard and lasted for a good 3 hours or so. it probly helped that i had used home made medicated butter along with a few other medicated products but the olive oil deffintly helped top it all off in the end.

I have found this is the best recipe for people who are vegan and don't want to use butter. I can also see benefits of using this if you aren't vegan, such as not consuming a good amount of butter. Olive oil can also make recipes that cannabis butter cannot, my oil is much better tasting than when I make butter. I have made brownies with the olive oil, I have heated up some oil to make pasta just like the other posters here have recommended. I really find the best use for this to be the vegan factor, I feel that butter can become much more potent than oil. This is just personal experience though, I have nothing to back this up.

Made some of this with a friend and we fixed the most delicious pasta, it added just the perfect potency that we were real happy with our supper. The recipe was easy even for the flaky pair of us. I recommend anyone who likes to really cook and then get baked (pun intended) this is for you.

This stuff is beyond potent. It is very discreet and a great alternative to cannabutter or tinctures.

Used the recipe to make a batch and wow was it strong. But when making pasta it was the most wonderful addition to all the other recipes. It was fun to make too. But really potent. Give it a shot or a dash whichever you prefer.

I am an absolute huge pasta cooker, can't live without my Italian food, it is perfect to add the olive oil to any recipe. The THC is really strong and for me works absolutely superb. I would say if you like to cook Italian, use the olive oil you will not regret it.

Definitely changes that old Italian recipe for what ever you want to fix. I love to cook with olive oil because of the flavor and adding THC is pure genius. It is fabulous if you love to cook and need to medicate as well. Really strong in potency, so be careful.

Good recipe and I will use this everyday. I will have to make sure and lable the bottle so everyone knows it's "special" oil. Best way to saute, get some good nutrition and pain relief all at the same time.

I've even slow boiled seeds and stems in straight up EVOO and then left to steep like a tea for about an hour and then strained...almost the same effect. My wife made a cake and brownies and hid them from the kids. She should've hid them from me!

I've given herbal olive oil to a friend of mine that was in need of pain medication for his stomach. If only they sold containers like doob tubes for olive oil. The evoo in the recipe for anything from the Food Network can be swapped out to make a potent edible.

i love this post. i have been an avid weed oil user for approx 2 yrs... here is my method - i use a coffee grinder and grind up 1/2 oz of dry weed - buds, stems, etc - place in a very small crock pot (actually it is a sauce warmer that came with my crock pot) - mix in 10oz of very good quality extra virgin olive oil - heat on low/warm mode for about 2 hours - making sure oil is hot but doesn't burn - after the 2 hours you are ready to go - it is so simple just dry weed and the oo - no water - this concoction is shelf stable and last for at least 6 months - it is the same principle as the oo bottles you see sold with dried rosemary it them - the herb infuses into the oil over time - with weed the crock pot warming causes THC infusion w/in 2 hours - take a tea spoon full and you will get high as describe above - kicks in after 30 minutes and last for 3 to 4 hours - a body high that is very soothing to the joints and feels very groooovy baby ;-)

How effective is it to use as a topical applied to skin?
