Brownies

Ever since the 1968 theatrical masterpiece I Love You, Alice B Toklas, pot brownies have been helping people all over the planet feel better. Smoking marijuana and eating marijuana are two different ball games. When you eat a cannabis brownie for instance, you may not begin to feel it effects for up to an hour. However, most people report that when eating medicinal cannabis, instead of smoking it, their highs last longer. Still, old school pot smokers sometimes have a difficult time centering in on the more subtle edible marijuana buzz; they still prefer smoking. Those same old school tokers will still have a difficult time denying the facts that pot brownies:

  • Provide a powerfully euphoric body buzz;
  • Taste extra delicious when cooked properly;
  • Are less dangerous for consumption because they do not have to be ignited;

How to Bake Homemade Pot Brownies from Scratch

Let's keep this simple and effective. Here's a checklist that you'll need for your kitchen before you begin making your marijuana brownies:

  • A nonstick baking pan;
  • A stick of butter, melted;
  • One level cup of brown sugar;
  • 1/2 cup of all purpose flour;
  • One level cup of powdered cocoa mix;
  • Three large eggs;
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar;
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract;
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup delicious marijuana buds (grind them up very finely);

Cannabis Brownies Baking Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 355 F;
  • Beat that three eggs until they aerated;
  • Add in all other ingredients and stir until very well mixed;
  • Add your pot brownie batter to your baking pan and place in oven;
  • Bake for 40 minutes and then check with a toothpick in the center;
  • You will probably need to finish off for about another 10 minutes;

Bake some of your own weed brownies today and gift them to your family and friends. Everybody loves pot brownies!

1/2 to 3/4 cup delicious marijuana buds (grind them up very finely) seems like a lot of bud--it's more than 14 grams, right? I'm looking for pain relief, not a psychedelic experience! I've made butter (with degrees of success) using duff and leaf, but it doesn't address my pain. Regarding the recipe above and the suggestion by Bud Skeletor (cooking it with the butter before mixing everything), should you grind the material to a powder or should it be rough? I've read recipes that say both and I don't want to mess this up. Any help is appreciated

I made some years ago when it was like eating straw mixed with your brownies and you ate them just because. But with the cannabutter the brownies are an absolutely perfect, chocolate delicious mixture of goodness and THC. AWESOME>

Yes sir this is my definite favorite edible whether or not it is a special brownie or not. But when the glorious magical ingredient is added, well then it is heaven on earth. I love the way the chocolate and the peanut butter ones are mixed to take you to a sweet retreat in the stars. Heavenly. I love them.

OMG I just kind of woke up after over 24 hours of total mind blowing effects from half of a brownie. It was the best chocolate indulgence that literally knocked me to the floor. I have had Demerol and Morphine shots for my pain that did nothing like this little darling did. If you have problem with sleep pain whatever and don't like to smoke. Grab one of the big brownies from 530 in Shasta Lake City. They sell the stuff from the candy man, it was totally awesome.

I have a good friend who ate one that was very strong and he hated it and how it affected him. As for me I love the affect you get from this sweet little treat and would recommend them to anyone.

The original edible. I like to add mint chocolate pieces to the top. It tends to hide the potent hashy flavor and goes great with fudge.

I had self medicated my entire life and never thought to get my medical card until I tried some good brownies. I am living with lupus and a symptom of my problem is joint pain, the first time I ate a cannabis brownie the discomfort and pain lessened in about 20 minutes. I thought to myself, I really need to just get my medical card and buy some brownies to eat when I sleep so I can eat one on the nights I am really hurting. I went through with it and buy brownies on the regular, it has increased my quality of life and sleep greatly.

Brownies are the classic THC infused food, and they are hard to mess up for beginners. Almost all of the clinics I go to lately have the same type of brownies; Yak Brownies. They have good potency, but they are kept in the freezer in sealed silver pouches, and are sometimes dry. I think the best brownies are the ones that you make yourself because you know exactly how much marijuana went into them, so you know what to expect. I have never had a bad home-made brownie, but I have had one or two from clinics that just didn't work or were insanely dry. I think that it is better for the patients that clinics are now required to cook their edibles in safety-inspected kitchens, or get them from someone who does, because it ensures quality.

It seems like just about everyone who likes to medicate has tried pot brownies. It's probably the most well know edible around. I like brownies but only if they're extra moist. When they're too dry the pot flavor is often overpowering. I remember a trip from S.F. to Disneyland. A bunch of us had made brownies the night before so we could enjoy the rides. They have the whole park on video tape so you can't smoke even in the parking lot. Back then brownies and cookies were just about the only edibles made.

Tried from more than one dispensary, but it's a brownie who can resist a brownie. Got a good body buzz, but didn't do much for my head. But again who can resist a brownie and a buzz to boot.

When it comes to brownies I don't think I've ever met one I didn't like. These wonderful little delights are definitely not the same ones from my teen years. When I don't want to deal with smoking I can ease my pain with the glorious taste of a delicious chocolate treat. If you don't want to be a smoker, be an eater. Give your chocolate craving a treat.

Pot Brownies are truly a great invention. My most favorite part about them would be not dealing with the smoke. You get the effect without the smell.

Brownies are a great way to take medical marijuana. Not only does it taste great, the effect seems to last a little bit longer. I would eat one for an after dinner dessert and be set for the night.

Pot brownies are my favorite edible to medicate with because when they are made with extra strength they can get you really couch-locked and still have a great chocolate taste. The best pot brownies are made with only hash ;D

Pot brownies are my favorite edible along with the rice crispy treats. But the brownies got a good blend if you make them right to where you can barely taste it but there's a ton of weed inside.

Another great trick when making your own brownies: Grind the marijuana down until it's like a powdery silt. I have used wire-meshed screens to do this the most effectively. Then take your product and add to the oil/butter that is recommended for the recipe. If the recipe calls for just oil, split it 1/2&1/2 with butter. Simmer the marijuana and the oil mixture for 2-30 minutes on a super-low heat in a pan on the stove. Make sure it's a low heat: you don't want to burn up the weed. Then add the entire mixture to your other ingredients and bake away. The potency of the THC is amplified and bonds to the fat molecules in the oil and butter. This makes a little amount of product go a long way. Enjoy.

Edibles are fantastic for those of us who don't want to smoke. Edibles give a very potent body high and chocolate brownies are always a delicious treat. However, a word of caution: a little bit goes a long way. Some manufacturers put how much product they use on the label. This can be a good indicator to how strong they are. I've been making my own for years, and even using crappy, small amounts of weed can have a very strong effect. I suggest testing a small bite and waiting a while to see the effects. Remember the body will take around 4 hours to metabolize food and you may not get the full effect until then. Brownies are the only reason I have ever had to call in sick to work because I was to messed up to drive. But a good, sustained body high can be a very enjoyable effect. Just remember it's a several hour commitment, and not to keep eating the same brownies when the munchies kick in... the effect will be cumulative! :-)

Daddy's Collective in Sherman Oaks carries awesome edibles by Queen Bee Bakery . I had a giant Peanut Butter cup that was really tasty and very effective. Eat on an empty stomach and the medicine starts to work in 45 minutes. They also had medicated Twinkies, suckers and Red Velvet Cake. Yummy!

Yum brownies, what a way to enjoy your medication without inhaling toxic smoke and having something incredibly good tasting to eat. Went by cannabis creations collective here in San Diego and picked up a 1g bubble hash chocolate delux brownie made by The CHRONIC Catering Company. Was suggested that only half be ate at one time but being a heavy medicato I ended up eating the whole thing. After about an hour I felt really good. Then by 2 hours I was passed out sleeping like a baby. Bout an hour later I woke up really hungry and ate everything in the house. Felt good and body high lasted for hours. Would give these brownies an 8 out 10.

I agree that special brownies are the George Washington of edibles. They got it all going. What I like about well made brownies is the length of my high. It's usually a few hour ordeal with a nice body-high. While I enjoy edibles whenever I have the chance, I still prefer a nice, cloudy bong rip. Definitely a tasty way to medicate, especially if you have a cough or need to be discreet.

Everyone loves brownies. If made right perfect for giving to friends and just doing activities. Edibles take longer to hit, but will enter your bloodstream more efficiently.
