I personally love the environment. Security is a necessity. I was robbed at a club in L.A., so I don't mind getting a minor wand down.
These are probably the nicest folks I have come across in the industry. Answer questions, help the community.
The meds are top notch, and lower in price then the other clubs in the area.
Clones are the best around...hands down.
Parking was easy and once I entered the place, the staff were friendly enough. The place is ghetto though, they have security with wands who want to scan you and the staff seem suspicious, only one other place I've been to gave me this feeling.
Edibles are one of a king and strains are in line with what they should be. I don't like this type of environment. It doesn't have the friendly collective feeling that I look for in a medicinal center, rather it seems like a corner vending machine.
The budtender was very helpful and friendly, although she got angry when I touched the meds. Customer service is fairly friendly. The building itself is somewhat hard to find. Overall, Grannys is a really solid dispensary with high quality meds and a tasty assortment of edibles.
Summary: Granny Purps offers quick service and good selection. They have healthy looking clones and seeds available. The Granny Purps brand is based on a granny that cooks edibles that taste great. One of the better dispensaries in the Santa Cruz area.
Review:
Not visible from the road, but easy to get to once you know where it is. Parking is easy. Theres a guard and a receptionist, both courteous gentlemen. Empty your pockets, be scanned with a handheld detector, and fill out new patient paperwork while your prescriptions checked. Verification took about three minutes before heading into the medicine room.
A long rectangular room greets you, with lots of counter space and local art for sale on the walls. Clones are on display behind the counter. They looked very healthy and green, with about five strains available including Santa Cruz Kush and a Skunk variety.
Granny Purps is the founder of this dispensary and has been featured in the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Shes an expert baker and her edibles are well reputed in the community. That said, there was a good edible selection and first visit freebies are usually a snickerdoodle cookie.
Flower-wise, theres about four sativa varieties available, and six or seven indica strains. Most of the hybrids, about eight or so, are sativa leaning. All strains are represented in small counter top jars that youre free to inspect. They have several types of seeds made by Humboldt growers. The bud tender was polite but wasnt engaging. This may have been due to a customer waiting in a chair by the door, but shouldnt have mattered since shopping time was less than 5 minutes. Purchases are done on detailed POS system.
