The Beneficial Care Collective is a pretty centralized collective. It was easy to find and had adequate parking. Their wait staff was cool and helpful and finished my processing fairly quickly. When I got inside I found a large selection of buds. I took my time and saw quite a few of the currently popular strains. They had a good selection of familiar Indicas and I'm always happy to see good quality OGs and other Kushes. Some of their stains were in a lower price range but seeing 1/8s for $65 hurts my heart. Co-Ops are supposed to be here for the people and paying that much can feel like extortion. But everything was good quality and the fact that they had a great selection made my experience a good one.

I came to this spot looking for the Blueberry Indica they had on their menu. The location is central in Downtown and easy to find. Check in was quick and the staff was very friendly. I took a look at about 10 strains and was left unimpressed with everything except their Private Reserve. The Blueberry looked dry and a little brown, not good enough to grab and definitely not worth $20 for a gram. The rest of their Top Shelf was average to below average. They have a separate display with a Private Reserve selection. I must say that the 3 Private Reserve strains (OGizzle, Green Crack and Sour Diesel) caught my eye. These strains were all grown by the same grower and are clearly on another level than anything else on display. I would have probably grabbed the OGizzle if I didn't have so much OG at home. It's a Sativa heavy OG that I was glad to see properly labeled as a hybrid (most spots list it as Indica). The Private Reserve strains were priced highly at $25 per gram/$65 for an eighth. This spot offers a $5 off coupon in the Reader regularly, so grab that before coming especially if you plan on buying Private Reserve items. All Said, I will return to this spot if I see something I want from their Private Reserve and am able to use a coupon. I gave up my first timer gift (a free joint or edible with purchase) by leaving empty handed. Bottom line, they have a nice staff and a good location, but weak buds with the exception of their Private Reserve.

The Beneficial Care Collective is located in an easy to find, less congested part of Broadway located near the Gaslamp District of San Diego. Parking in this area wasn’t bad at all. When I pulled up to B.C.C., there were several open parking spots directly in front of the collective. The spacious venue was welcoming once I entered. The front desk girl was very friendly and I walked right in after the necessary paper work was completed. B.C.C. had very few customers at this time so the quietness of the room seemed slightly awkward at first, but once I started asking the staff questions about the strains then the mood shifted in the room. The most expensive strains on the board were $65 an eighth while the lower end strains were $35 an eighth. I was pretty familiar with some of the indica and sativa strains they had here at B.C.C. Master Kush, Mango Kush, Bubba Kush, Purple OG, Fire O.G. and Frost Berry were all indicas at B.C.C. that I’ve tried before so I can say that their quality in this category is good. The prices were fair as well. Diablo OG was my indica purchase today. The sativa list here at B.C.C. wasn’t as strong as the indica list in quality, but the variety was present. I for one saw Green Crack sativa listed at $60 an eighth, but I don’t believe it’s worth that price. Plus, I have seen green crack for less. The selection of edibles was pretty large and had variety as well. Brownies, cakes, and even soft drinks were on the menu. The B.C.C. also gives free gifts to first time patients.
