Highland Park is sort of a no man's land area to L.A. and the weed dispensaries I've experienced here so far are the same. Most of them, including this one, are located in strip malls and are strictly based on money. And, being that they are focused on money, it should be no surprise that the prices aren't too competitive and fail by comparison to more professional wellness centers, cooperatives and collectives. In their defense though, I have seen worse prices. Also, if you like a comfortable place to go to when you pick up your meds, this is not the place you want to be at. First time visiters get a free pre-roll with membership registration but the free pre roll is not the strongest strain, not too enticing as far as a motivator for patients to return.
They have Church Kush, Ak-47, Skywalker, Jupiter, OG Bubba and Snow Kush for around $50 an eighth. The strains they carry have popular names but are not top notch quality..almost as if they got some back door bulk deal cause its not grade A or something. These are like bachelors off of the block trying to get a business going. It seems like they have good intentions and simply need to work out some bugs like the dankness and look of the place plus a little weed quality control.
On a positive note, they are collective like in the fact that if you visit in the morning, you can enjoy coffee and toast, bagels , cream cheese and such all for free. They have this deal every morning. For me, if the product price is fair and I feel the establishment is stable enough, the breakfast part seals the deal as a top spot. I love breakfast.
